Terms of Service
⚠️ DRAFT — needs Norwegian/EU lawyer review before publishing to App Store or any public URL. Drafted 2026-05-26 by the engineer to reflect what the app actually does. Replace this banner with the live published date once a lawyer has reviewed and approved.
Last updated: 2026-05-26 Effective date: [TBD — date this is first published]
In plain English (the TL;DR)
By using Blessed Frames, you agree to these rules. We let you create beautiful personal Christian images using AI. You promise to use the app respectfully — no blasphemy, no hateful or sexual content, no fake religious figures. You own the photos you upload and the frames the app creates for you. We own the app itself, the curated scenes, and the prompts. Subscriptions auto-renew through Apple — you can cancel anytime in iPhone Settings. AI may produce imperfect or unexpected images; we don't promise theological correctness, only good-faith effort. Norwegian law applies. If something goes wrong, our liability is limited as described below. You can stop using the app any time.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Dahlstrøm GD (Norwegian enkeltpersonforetak, org. no. 926 596 977, Rosenlundveien 7, 3225 Sandefjord, Norway), the operator of Blessed Frames ("we", "us", "our", "the Service").
By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What Blessed Frames is
Blessed Frames is an iOS application and related online service that lets you:
- Create personal Christian devotional images ("Frames") that combine your selected Bible verse, an AI-generated or curated scene, and optionally a photo of yourself
- Read a daily Christian passage with reflection ("Daily Blessings")
- Browse a Bible reader with mood-based discovery
- Send styled greeting cards or gift subscriptions to other people
The Service may evolve over time. New features may be added; existing features may be changed or removed. We will give reasonable notice for material changes that affect what you've paid for.
3. Eligibility and account requirements
3.1 Minimum age
You must be at least 13 years old to use Blessed Frames. If you are between 13 and 16 (depending on your country's GDPR digital consent age — see Privacy Policy Section 10), you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms and consents to your use.
If you are under 13, you may not create an account. A parent or guardian may use the Service on your behalf with their own account, supervising your use.
3.2 Account information
To use the Service you must:
- Provide a real name, real email address, and accurate denomination + gender selections during sign-up
- Keep that information current
- Keep your sign-in credentials confidential
You are responsible for everything done on your account.
3.3 One account per person
You may have only one personal account. We may suspend or close duplicate or fake accounts.
4. Subscriptions, credits, and payments
4.1 What's included at each tier
What you can do at each tier:
- Bible reader — unlimited at every tier, free forever
- Daily Blessing — one passage delivered automatically each day, every day, at every tier. You receive what the system schedules for that day; you cannot generate additional blessings on demand. Because a new one arrives daily, access is effectively unlimited over time, but it is not a user-driven feature.
- Quick Frames (curated devotional images from our library) — 4 per month (paced one per week) at the free tier and at any paid subscription tier. Quick Frames do not consume credits.
- Personalized AI frames (your reference photo composited into the scene by AI) — available only with an active subscription or credit-pack purchase. Each generation consumes 1 credit.
In short: the free tier gives you the Bible, a daily passage, and 4 Quick Frames per month. Personalized AI frames require credits, which come from a subscription or a credit pack.
4.2 Pricing and billing
Subscription prices and credit pack prices are displayed in the app and may vary by region. All purchases are processed by Apple's In-App Purchase system under Apple's terms. We never see or store your card details.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize Apple to charge your Apple ID on the schedule shown at checkout.
4.3 Auto-renewal
Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You manage and cancel subscriptions in iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, not in the Blessed Frames app.
4.4 Free trials
If we offer a free trial, you will be charged the regular subscription price when the trial ends unless you cancel before that date.
4.5 Refunds
EEA cooling-off period (14 days): As a Norwegian/EU consumer, you generally have a 14-day right to withdraw from distance contracts. However, this right is waived when you start consuming a digital service (such as generating an AI frame) before the 14 days are up, as permitted under the EU Consumer Rights Directive. By generating your first AI frame, you expressly agree to waive the cooling-off period for that subscription period.
Apple refund policy: All refund requests must be made through Apple. We cannot issue refunds directly because we never receive your payment — Apple does.
To request a refund: https://reportaproblem.apple.com/
4.6 Credits and credit packs
- A credit is the unit that unlocks one personalized AI frame
- Subscriptions grant a monthly credit allowance (currently 4 credits per month)
- Credit packs are one-off purchases that add credits on top of any subscription allowance. The current pack is 5 credits for USD 7.99 (or local equivalent set by Apple)
- Bonus Quick Frames with credit packs: purchasing a credit pack also unlocks one additional Quick Frame per credit purchased — so a 5-credit pack gives you 5 personalized AI frame credits plus 5 extra Quick Frames added to that month's allowance
- Quick Frames do not consume credits — they have their own monthly quota (see Section 4.1)
- Unused credits do not expire while your subscription is active
- Credits are not transferable, not redeemable for cash, and not refundable independently of the underlying subscription
4.7 Price changes
We may change prices for new subscription periods. We will notify you at least 30 days before a price change affects your renewal, and you may cancel before that renewal if you do not accept the new price.
5. Your content and our content
5.1 What you own
- Your reference photos — you own them
- Your generated frames — you own them (subject to the licenses below)
- Anything else you create or upload to the Service — you own it
We do not claim ownership of any photo, frame, or content you provide.
5.2 License you grant us
To run the Service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to:
- Store your photos and frames on our servers (in the EEA, with the OpenAI processing exception described in the Privacy Policy)
- Process your photos and prompts through our AI pipeline (including OpenAI)
- Display your frames back to you in your Library
- Apply automated moderation checks to detect harmful content
This license:
- Lasts only while we hold the content (i.e., until you delete it or close your account)
- Is for the sole purpose of operating the Service for you
- Is not a license for us to publish, market, repurpose, or share your content with third parties beyond what's described in the Privacy Policy
5.3 What we own
- The Blessed Frames app, its design, code, brand, and trademarks
- The 23+ scene templates and their text prompts
- The 14 mood categories, their curated verse selections, and their associated subtitles
- The Daily Blessings library (passages with reflections)
- The curated mood pill image library
- All other original creative content created by Dahlstrøm GD
Bible verse text itself is in the public domain (World English Bible) or licensed (NIV, NKJV, ESV, etc.); we do not claim ownership of any Bible translation we display.
5.4 Licenses you do NOT grant us
You do not grant us a license to:
- Sell, rent, or sublicense your photos or generated frames
- Use your photos or frames for advertising or marketing without your explicit, separate consent
- Train AI models on your data (we don't, and OpenAI's API terms also prohibit this)
- Display your content publicly to other Blessed Frames users (there is no public feed inside the app)
6. Acceptable use — what you may NOT do
You agree not to use Blessed Frames to:
6.1 Generate prohibited content
- Mocking, blasphemous, or disrespectful depictions of Jesus, Mary, saints, angels, or other sacred figures
- Hateful, harassing, or discriminatory content (toward any race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, etc.)
- Sexual, sexually suggestive, or romantic content involving any sacred figure or any minor
- Violent, gory, or weaponized depictions
- Politically partisan content (e.g., Jesus endorsing a political party or candidate)
- Content depicting recognizable real people other than yourself and biblical figures (no celebrities, no politicians, no other people's likenesses without their consent)
- Misquoted Bible verses presented as authentic
- Other religious figures from non-Christian traditions (e.g., Mohammed, Buddha) — even if respectfully framed
- Content that violates the law in your country or ours
Custom prompts are automatically screened by AI moderation before generation. Flagged prompts will be refused. Repeated attempts to generate prohibited content may result in account suspension or termination.
6.2 Misuse the Service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code of the app
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers against our service
- Attempt to access another user's account or data
- Interfere with the operation of the Service (DDoS, spam, fraud)
- Use the Service to send unsolicited bulk messages
- Resell, redistribute, or commercialize access to the Service without our written permission
6.3 Misrepresent your relationship to Blessed Frames
- You may not claim to be affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Dahlstrøm GD or Blessed Frames
- You may not use Blessed Frames imagery to imply religious authority you do not have
7. AI-generated content — important disclaimers
7.1 AI imperfection
The Service uses generative AI (currently OpenAI's gpt-image-2 model) to create personalized frames. AI imagery is imperfect by nature. You acknowledge that generated frames may:
- Misrepresent your face (distortion, wrong age, wrong expression)
- Misrender hands, fingers, eyes, or other anatomical features
- Misinterpret your prompt
- Produce imagery that, while compliant with our guidelines, does not match the precise theological tradition or aesthetic you hoped for
Each generated frame is labeled "AI-generated" in the app interface as required by Apple's App Store guidelines. You should review every frame before saving, sharing, or printing it.
7.2 No theological authority
Blessed Frames is a devotional aid, not a religious authority. Generated frames are not:
- Officially sanctioned imagery from any church
- Theologically reviewed or doctrinally certified
- Substitutes for Scripture, sacrament, or pastoral guidance
We make a good-faith effort to keep imagery respectful and traditional (see locked rules in the codebase: no God the Father, no other religious figures, no political content, etc.), but we make no warranty about theological correctness.
7.3 Your responsibility for sharing
When you share a generated frame outside Blessed Frames (to iMessage, Photos, Instagram, etc.), the sharing context is your responsibility. We do not control how shared images are perceived in other contexts.
8. User-generated content moderation
You can report any frame, message, or content you see in the Service that violates these Terms via the Report Content button available on every generated image.
We commit to reviewing reports promptly and removing content that violates these Terms. We may also pre-emptively remove content that the AI moderation system flags as high-risk.
If your content or account is removed, we will notify you with a reason where reasonably possible, and you may appeal by emailing support@blessedframes.com.
9. Third-party services
Blessed Frames uses third-party services to operate (Apple, Supabase, OpenAI, Resend, RevenueCat — see Privacy Policy Section 6 for details). Your use of those services through Blessed Frames is governed by their own terms in addition to ours.
We are not responsible for third-party service outages, errors, or content. We will work to maintain availability but cannot guarantee 100% uptime.
10. Account suspension and termination
10.1 You can leave any time
You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen → Delete my account. Account deletion erases all your personal data within 30 days, except where a legal obligation (tax records, court orders) requires longer retention.
10.2 We can suspend or terminate
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms (especially Section 6 on prohibited content)
- Use the Service fraudulently or to harm others
- Fail to pay for paid features
- Have been inactive for an extended period (we'll notify you first)
Where reasonably possible, we will notify you before termination and give you an opportunity to export your data and frames.
10.3 Effect of termination
When your account is terminated:
- Your access to the Service ends
- Your personal data is deleted per our Privacy Policy Section 8 retention schedule
- Sections of these Terms that by their nature survive termination (IP rights, liability limits, governing law) remain in effect
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or virus-free
- We do not warrant that AI-generated frames will meet any particular standard of theological accuracy, aesthetic quality, or personal resemblance
- We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of curated content (daily blessings, scene prompts, Bible translations)
For consumers in the EEA, the above limitations apply only to the extent permitted by mandatory consumer protection law. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Norwegian and EU consumer law:
- For consumers: Our liability for ordinary negligence is limited to foreseeable damages typical for this type of service. Our liability for intent or gross negligence is unlimited. Our liability for death, bodily injury, or damage to health remains unlimited.
- Maximum aggregate liability: For any non-mandatory matters, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) NOK 1,000.
The limitations in this section do not exclude:
- Liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Liability that cannot be excluded under Norwegian consumer law
- Liability for personal injury or death caused by our negligence
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dahlstrøm GD and its agents from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any law or third-party right (e.g., uploading a photo of someone without their consent)
- Content you generate that violates Section 6
This obligation does not apply to claims caused by our own negligence or breach of these Terms.
14. Privacy
Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By accepting these Terms, you also agree to the practices described there.
15. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
For consumers resident in the EEA, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
Disputes: We hope you'll contact us first at support@blessedframes.com to try to resolve any issue informally. If that fails:
- EEA consumers may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/
- Norwegian consumers may file complaints with Forbrukertilsynet (the Norwegian Consumer Authority) or with the Norwegian small claims court (Forliksrådet)
- Other disputes will be resolved by the courts of Sandefjord, Norway, the seat of Dahlstrøm GD
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when we add features or when the law changes. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top
- Notify you in-app and/or by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect
- For paying subscribers, give you the right to cancel before the change applies to your account
Continued use of the Service after the change date constitutes acceptance.
17. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement: These Terms + the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Dahlstrøm GD regarding the Service
- Severability: If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect
- No waiver: Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right
- Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations (e.g., if Dahlstrøm GD is restructured into a corporation), subject to the protections of consumer law
- No agency: These Terms do not create a partnership, employment, or agency relationship

This document is a draft prepared by Blessed Frames' engineering team for legal review. It reflects the Service as it currently exists (as of 2026-05-26). Before publication, this draft should be reviewed by a Norwegian or EEA consumer law lawyer. The "Effective date" at the top will be set once that review is complete and the document is published at blessedframes.com/terms.
